Staff were so friendly it is beautiful and haunted as hell…
My guy and I went there on Halloween and were able to walk around…
and we had the most wonderful dinner.
The server was excellent…
just such a pleasure to stay or being a place that is so opulent and reminiscent of Times Gone by.

You would expect a hotel like this to be able to handle the simple task of sending out a package that needed to go that day. I requested for the nearest fedex but they insisted they could take care of it for me. Sure enough when I checked the tracking two days later nothing was available. That is because they never sent out my package. And the manager confirmed it was still sitting there and no one picked it up. What a great way to ruin a relaxing weekend!

Historic hotel in the heart of downtown Austin. Beautiful architecture, friendly staff, soft beds & pillows, with a bar & cafe. The event areas are large, welcoming rooms with ample staff for your guests. Personally I think it is overpriced for the lack of amenities…such as toiletries, extra blankets, option of hard pillows, larger bathtub, no parking & no pool. Lastly be sure to take the haunted ghost tour!

We stayed here for a wedding. I called a week beforehand to request a microwave in my room due to a restrictive medical diet I am on. After waiting forever on the phone to get a hold of someone, the concierge finally answered and told me to request the microwave when I am checking in in person. Fast forward a few days, when I checked in, they told me they “don’t do microwaves” and that there is not a SINGLE ONE in the entire hotel for me to use. I had brought a lot of my own food and would have appreciated if they let me know beforehand that I would not have a way to heat up or eat any of it! Instead their responses were conflicting. Also, when I called the front desk from my room to ask a question, I tried for over 15 min to reach someone but they NEVER PICKED UP THE PHONE. Absolutely ridiculous, abysmal customer service. Not to mention the shower also smelled like feet. And the walls were so thin that you could hear conversations from neighboring units or drunk people screaming in the hallways at 3am. We parked in a nearby parking garage otherwise valet would have charged a whopping $49/night. All in all, I can’t believe we paid $235 Inc. tax to stay here. I’ve had better experiences at Holiday Inn. And the $235 is even with a wedding party discount! Go elsewhere!

Staff is great. Inside building, restaurant, and bar are gorgeous. Using a your room key to use the elevators is great for added safety. BUT, the room deposits each night are a little on the heavy side. The valet price for each night is a bit ridiculous. When you can use the parking garage a stone throw away from the hotel (next door building) and use spot hero app and pay well below the price of just one valet night for the entire length of your stay. Safe inside closet did not work so we left the do not disturb sign on the door to protect our valuables. The mini fridge was a useless light box. Didn’t get cold enough for a few drinks. The style of the rooms are typical and show no resemblance to the gorgeous foyer. Queen room size was decent if you are not really in your hotel for your stay except to sleep. Overall the prices nightly are for the location. Make sure to use a discount hotel app to book your stay. You can walk almost everywhere.
Side note keep in mind the city has gone down hill because of the homeless. It stinks pretty much everywhere and the people/curse at you if you don’t stop to give them something free.

The start of my journey into the entrance of the Stephen F Austin was spectacular. Mostly, due to the staff, location, and amenities. Anthony runs a tight ship, making sure to touch all points of customer service.
When approaching the service counter, the ease to register, obtain crucial information regarding amenities, and advice on the best way to enjoy the area was pleasant 😀👍.
The rooms were welcoming 🙏, clean, and comfy. Lots of space, great service when needed, and hidden treasures of coffee service within the entertainment cabinet.
It was a joy to stay and a big shout out to Anthony for his wonderful service ❤!
I can’t express this enough, Anthony leads his crew by example. Keep up the great work team Stephen in Austin, Tx!

Every year, I always stay at Residence Inn for New Years and leave out with a great experience. Everything from my stay (Front Desk, Breakfast Buffet, Servers, Concierge, Valet etc.) are always wonderful, but I am giving a bad rating because of security.
On NYE around 11:40, I was walking back to the hotel to change really quick and go back on 6th street to party. The Residence Inn entrance was closed off, with the Courtyard entrance open. I’m walking up to the entrance and this big tall African American man walks up to me and says “Let me see your room key.”
I looked at him concerned and asked, “Why do you need to see my room key?” I was uncertain if there was an issue going on in the hotel, if it were some personal issue, so of course I’m a little worried. I’ve never been asked for a room key.
He sighs as if I were wasting his time, and then responds with: “Look, man, I’m just checking anyone coming in here is a residence–” and goes into mumbling something else. Meanwhile, 3 other people walked in without being asked for their room key. I would have understood if he came up to me cordially and explained, but the way he approached me seemed off putting as if I were a suspect.
After front desk profusely apologized for the inconvenience, they stated the situation will be handled. Again, everything about this hotel is superb. My experience is just unfortunate.

I spent a week here with my family and the hotel was located in a great location downtown and had spacious rooms with kitchens which made it easier with a family. The hotel is connected to the Courtyard hotel and they share the same valet and breakfast services. With covid be prepared for a not ideal situation given the room costs. There was no cleaning services at all. We had to put our garbage in the hallway and request necessities like towels in a week long stay. Also, I thought only offering $49 a day valet service for parking was very outrageous. They had elevators for the garage, so I am guessing they normally have some sort of self parking, nut not now. At peak times. be ready to wait for your car. Also, the front desk was constantly busy so if your keys didn’t work or if needed something you also had to wait. I understand there are staffing issues at all hotels but it seemed much more acute here then at other hotels I have stayed in recently.

Nice place w/very solid customer svc, & especially great with Westin partnership shared amenities👌
Only real negative is lack of ability to open any windows in room leaving one completely sealed in & unable to enjoy optional fresh outdoor air, especially during nice tropical weather & rain😏

Nice location in downtown Austin. The hotel was clean and well kept. A couple of issues though. When we booked the room there was no mention that construction was going on right behind the hotel and within 50yards of our room. the work started around 8:00 in the morning and often went until 9:00 at night! That should have been noted either during the booking or when we checked in. AC in the room was not adequate for the space and it got warm in the evenings. The front desk staff was polite but unhelpful with simple questions. The Valet staff was the best often welcoming me by name.

It was a nice hotel, breakfast was really good, great pancakes! I’m not sure if it’s worth the money paid to stay there. MAJOR UPDATE: 2021
Update on the hotel. Such a fantastic place to stay. We were there Jan 2021 celebrating my birthday, back in Feb, and heading back this coming Sat. We had an amazing stay, the room was fantastic along with the view. Seems like there were many upgrades, staff is amazing, very accommodating and easy to work with. Absolutely recommend it for celebrations, stay-cays, and networking events.

There aren’t enough amazing things to say about this hotel. I was very weary of booking a place so large and in the middle of downtown Austin but they made everything flow so easily! Parking for the day was very reasonable since we came and went constantly, the rooms were cozy, the beds were like sleeping on a cloud, water pressure was something from Heaven and the staff was so incredibly nice and professional. And the hotel itself was gorgeous! Very impressive convention center as well! And can’t complain about the rooftop pool! Stayed for 3 days and don’t have a single complaint. 10/10 recommend! I will be back!

Excellent service. Bruce and Owen are the best. By far the best service we experienced on our week trip. Owen gave great recommendations to the dining options and nailed it. Actually showed us where the restaurants were located; he called places (bike rental & restaurants) to find out availability and happy hours. Checked on us and remembered us with a cheerful smile every time over the three fantastic days we were there. OWEN is the GOAT!

Worst valet experience I’ve ever had. Paid $46 per night which is supposed to include unlimited in and out service. We called down early to have them have the car ready but once, no one picked up. On Saturday night, we waited 45 minutes outside for our car to be brought out. It was busy and many people were waiting for cars. It was very disorganized outside with cars parked everywhere. On Monday morning, we called down early and when we went out front 15 minutes later, the valet attendant said he would bring the car out soon, but the car should have been brought out when we called. We waited 25 minutes for a car that should have already been ready. Ridiculous to have us pay this valet price for such a horrible and disorganized experience. We were late to reservations and this has made me reconsider staying with Hilton in the future.

They provided absolutely amazing service and made my stay an absolute delight! I was there for a company launch event and for being my first time in Austin, thought this would be a great experience. I was picked up and when I arrived I asked if it was possible to change the view of the room. I mentioned that if it was inconvenient then it was okay I’ll just stick with the original reservation. I just wanted to do a little something nice for me after dealing with worsening health for months. They were nice enough to make that room change possible so I could have a view that brings me peace. Everyone was so nice and made sure I was always cared for. I needed a late checkout because I got in from the event late and was sleep deprived, I just needed sleep. It was a relief when they let me have a late checkout and after still made sure I was okay. Thank you for such a pleasurable stay!

My wife and I enjoyed a 5 day stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin . Our experience was highly favorable . Of course it’s a lovely property on the Colorado river , but it had other features which were most impressive . First , the hotel was very clean and well cared for , with some of the very best housekeeping that we’ve ever experienced anywhere . Our room was kept impeccably clean , with crisp , white ironed linens every day . A beautiful bed for sure !
The staff was also very friendly and went out of their way to assure our comfort and enjoyment . Great wait staff and foods at the on site restaurant. Gorgeous , wooded grounds along the river with a convenient walking trail .
While the hotel was as good as we could have expected , it was the staff ( especially housekeeping ) that stood out as exceptional .
Lastly , the hotel’s location is perfect , with all the prime restaurants and music venues a short walk/drive away . Having stayed at blue chip hotels around the world , we found that this location was impressively managed and operated . Credits to an excellent staff and management !!

This place is disgusting. I’m appalled to even write this review simply because didn’t want to recall the moment that we stayed here for two nights or be associated with this place. Two stars for the staff and the bed but for the room, it’s zero stars. I understand, for the money that we pay for there’s some things I can tolerate. However, whether you’re paying thousands of dollars or $200/night, I expect cleanliness and this place is far from that. The room definitely needs updating and make over. Here’s the summary:
– The walls are too thin. I can hear every syllables that the next door neighbor is saying. So if you’re expecting a quiet night, forget it.
– The carpet is disgusting. It has dog fur, crumbs, mildew, and areas where there’s no padding underneath. Cleaning it is not going to cut it. It needs to be replaced and redone appropriately.
– Shelf in the closet is “hanging by a tread.” It’s not anchored to a stud.
– Dirty AC unit is held by a 2×4 cut out with internal wires exposed.
– The bed is ok. Comfy enough for a 1-2 night stay.
– Bathroom needs a makeover. Holes and the wall and has a patchy job on the fixes. Cleaning it is not going to cut it, plumbing fixes need to be addressed. Shower head is not secured behind the wall and moves with a slight adjustment.
– Entry hallways are dirty, carpet is simply disgusting. Safety hazard with slippery walkway by the stairs has oil and dirt stains.

We had a crazy experience here, the front desk agent was the most helpful however, the valet person quit on site after valeting our car and the hotel didn’t offer us free parking they said we had to valet for $65 which is crazy. The actual room was somewhat nice but the hotel itself is extremely old and our keys kept deactivating ( we did not have them near our phones). The walls are paper thin but it was quiet at night. The elevator hasn’t been inspected since February. I have picture below for proof.

The front desk service was very friendly and helpful. Aside from that, you are paying for the location with this place. It’s pretty grungy and bare bones, but you are walking distance to downtown. If you’re not planning on spending much time in the room and want to be close to downtown, I would recommend this place. You won’t find many other affordable places nearby.

Started off each day with breakfast…Dana and Maria made that special. Very kind and considerate, Dana greeted me each morning with a smile and made sure my breakfast was Perfect. These two ladies make you feel at home. Congratulations Hilton, you have two exceptional employees that know how to take care of your clients. Moreover, the room and facilities were clean with everyone being professional and polite. I would recommend this facility because of the staff.

The staff was so friendly, the maids and chefs in particular. The pool was too cold and dirty to use, room service wasn’t available, and breakfast didn’t come with the room so we overall spent $220 to sleep in a bed and have a meal for one day. Valet is also unreasonably expensive unless you’re charging it to the company credit card, thankfully there are plenty cheaper parking lots to use nearby and sixth street is within walking distance. The room and staff were great, although the added amenities were basically none.

I’m giving the hotel 5 stars primarily based on its staff. Jay at the front desk was fabulous!!! Super sweet, helpful and courteous. Stephen from maintenance, the guys from valet, the ladies and gentlemen that work in the restaurant and the security guys all deserve praise as well. The hotel was clean and decorated with modern touches. Breakfast is not free. Pet friendly. The area was a bit on the rough side but not terrible. Overall we enjoyed our stay! Thank you to everyone that made our stay memorable!

It was just a lovely weekend. The room was very nice, very bright, very clean. I was pleasantly surprised. It was not inexpensive, but Hyatt’s have not been great in the past, this exceeded my expectation. Also, it is right on the river/walking trail so very easy to access. Easy walk to Downtown.

After having a not-so-great time in Austin at a previous hotel (the hotel across from this one) a family member and I decided that this year we would book through Hyatt as this property looked a bit nicer and more up to date. This hotel is a pretty great hotel for those wanting to be near to the action and the impressive atrium definitely is not an everyday sight. Check-in went well here, the member of staff was very professional and friendly, she also informed us of what was open and closed. At first, she thought we would have to wait for a room, but after looking around she found a room we could get on a higher floor without waiting. This hotel has also made the elevators need a room key, which gave a safe feeling to my family member and me knowing someone wasn’t going to just be running around if they weren’t a guest. This hotel seems to have invested in a digital system for the do not disturb and request cleaning signs, as well as other modern furnishings. There were some very minor issues with the room, the shower had some mildew growth, the office chair was also showing its age. The safe also was not working, a quick call to the front desk fixed this though, and engineering came quickly and ended up replacing the whole door, though we were both glad they were able to get it working the same day. Despite this hotel having an atrium too, the rooms are very well soundproofed, and you can’t hear anything from the beds. We ate on site for breakfast, and the food was really good, the service was also great, and Caleb provided excellent service. The location of the hotel is unbeatable too, it is right on the river, and in a very prime area of downtown. The elevators are nice and fast too, which is appreciated. Other than the few very minor things in the room, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay on this property, and recommend it for sure.

The staff was amazing! Like, the best I’ve ever been too. They were able to help me accommodate an early check in, when I was having trouble opening the patio door they sent someone to help me ASAP, and the most wonderful cleaning service gentleman chased me down to the parking garage after we accidentally left a pair of shoes in the room. HOW AMAZING!
The views over the river were incredible, too. An absolutely pleasure of a stay. I will be recommending this place to anyone who needs a top notch hotel in downtown Austin.

I have mixed feelings about my stay at th Sheraton.
The room appeared clean, but there was still trash in the recycling bin when we checked in. We stayed for 4 nights and had to call to get things to refresh. The first room we had, the heater didn’t work that first night, it was 40°, outside and the room didn’t feel too comfortable.
The beds are noisy. If you roll over it’ll definitely squeeze or creek.
The whirlpool was out of order, but the pool was a nice temperature, considering the temperature outside this cold weekend.
The staff in the day time that I passed The halls and brought things to the room were so helpful. The over night team, night auditors and security helped me so much when I needed a little extra assistance and I will forever be grateful. That’s what saved this review

I would skip this hotel. Pay the extra money and stay in a better hotel. From being given a room that someone else was already staying in(thankfully they were dressed when we walked in)to giving us a handicap room. Bathroom had one bath towel. Coffee was frequently out in the lobby. Starbucks was there but not open for some reason.

This hotel was great. It was in a great location, walk-able to downtown restaurants and bars and the Congress bridge where the bats come out. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast was good and offered a lot including an omelet station. Rooms were a great size and comfortable bed; just needs a little updating but nothing serious. Would definitely recommend.

Staff was courteous and helpful. Omelet chef has great personality. Breakfast was very good, especially for a breakfast included in the room rate. Bed was comfortable. Room could use updating. Robe/towel hook on bathroom door is about to fall off the door. The trim around the bathroom door knob was loose. I would stay there again, but hope updating is in the near future.

Overall good stay. Good location for activities downtown, Town Lake. Wish the bathroom had towel racks, cups for water. TVs were fairly small and not terribly user friendly with easy guide, etc. We weren’t in the room long every day as we were in Austin for a family wedding, so it was all fine. Nice breakfast and happy hour. Loved how speedy the elevators were also.

From the moment Tex checked us in, to Matt in the bar serving our drinks, we understood that we were in the right Hotel for our weekend getaway.
We stayed three nights for the Texas, Oklahoma st game.
The hotel is very nice, clean, and has great amenities. A very nice bar/lounge area with great drink selection and some good light food fare. Again Matt the bartender was quick with a drink and an amazing personality to have behind the bar. He represented the double tree brand excellently with his customer service.
Tex, the front desk clerk was such a nice experience as well. A rather happy chap that got us checked in to our rooms swiftly and with such a pleasant demeanor.
Highly recommend staying here if you are needing a room in downtown Austin.

Great hotel in a central location almost next door to the Capital. The staff make this hotel extra special. Literally, everyone is nice and professional and willing to help. The rooms are nicely appointed and the restaurant, at least for breakfast, was very good. There is no parking at this hotel so if you have a car, you either have to park it off site or use their valet service. We used the valet and each night our car was safely parked in a secured area. We plan to visit Austin again and when we do, we will revisit the Double Tree Suites on W 15th.

COCKROACH INFESTATION. Discovered 10 cockroaches crawling around the room. 2 crawled out of my dental retainer case. Front desk clerk unhelpful. Wyndham not available during the evening. Called them next day. They said they would “file a concern.” Supervisor refused to help. Asked the short grey headed man with an accent at the front desk if I could check out 30 minutes late. He threatened to fine me $50. Will file a complaint with the better business bureau.

We had booked a suite for five people for a Friday through Monday this weekend. One of us came up with bites all over and found a bed bug in the bed. We were informed that they have no other rooms they can move us to and they couldn’t guarantee a refund.
Update: An inspector went in and a worker called and confirmed that they found bed bugs. We were informed that the manager couldn’t talk to us after we called because he was off this weekend. We finally received an email that confirmed we would be getting a refund.

Very nice comfortable hotel for one night stay. I thought the mattresses were great but daughter thought they were a little hard. Rooms were very clean, including the bathtub and sinks. Nice little balcony outside of our room. Temperature in the room stayed cool enough overnight but the unit never shut off so was a little loud. Made it difficult to get to sleep but was fine once I did. Hot breakfast was as expected, the coffee was warm rather than hot at 8:30 a.m. front desk staff was awesome! Digital keys for rooms, garage, ice machine, always worked, no NFC needed.

I stayed in this hotel for the long Labor Day holiday and I was really pleased. Got a large suite with a balcony (Room 701 is highly recommended if you can get it). It was so large it almost felt like a studio apartment! Close to all the shops, restaurants, and everything Austin has to offer. The staff were amazing, accomadating any request I asked for right away. Free breakfast was more than I expected. I will definitely stay here again!

This hotel is in a good location and included breakfast which was very delicious. The staff was friendly but less than accommodating at times.
The rooms are decent but the plugs on the nightstand are very loose so you might not be able to use them. We had to plug our devices into a wall outlet to charge and leave them on the floor. They lose stars because housekeeping was not automatic and when we called for housekeeping and were told no because they had too many guests. They should have planned better.
If you choose to stay here be warned that they do charge for parking and parking at the various sites in the city is not easy or free. We had a rental car and ended up using Lyft mostly anyway (Uber is also available here). It was pretty easy to get a ride and we never waited more than 5 minutes for a car. Other transportation options in the city include rental scooters and bikes.

We chose this hotel based on location and its 4 star reviews. We stayed in two different king rooms with both beds having lost their structure and bowed in the center from head to toe. We would have preferred there be water provided inside of the bedrooms. The bar and grill was “ok” with limited hours . Overall the staff was not very accommodating other than a very kind and informative bellhop. We would not stay here again.

Hotel staff is excessively rude at the front desk. Just wow! Thought being in the heart of Texas, I’d get some real Texan hospitality. No! Super super rude even to the point of say IF my credit card went through, I could get a room. Wow! Judgment much??!! I realize I’d been on the road all day, fat, and temporarily disabled but I did look human and I did have luggage. Also you get room cleaned only if you book it??? Sketchy!!!! Already regretting coming to the conference which is sad since it’s the hotel and not the conference’s fault.

Beautiful room, beautiful lobby but the mattress felt completely broken down. I stay at many hotels. This mattress was the worst in recent memory. The coffee from the room was like drinking coffee flavored water. The coffee wasn’t that big of an issue but that mattress. The worst.

Clean room, comfy beds. Staff was respectful and helpful. It is a little loud being right near the highway but easy to get downtown. and Parking is a bit pricey and on football game days, the parking lot is packed and it costs more to park even as a hotel guest.

Stay was okay. Not super clean for Doubletree Hilton. Immediately when I got into bed I got bit, there was a gum ball left from a previous visitor on the night stand. The hotel overall was nice and felt safe. Morning staff way better than evening staff. At check-in I was not provided any details of the hotel facilities.

The housekeeping was very respectful, nice and non-intrusive. I definitely felt at home! I never felt so welcomed to a place before honestly! The front desk always assisted me to their full potential on anything I needed. I am only writing this review because Jennifer, one of the front desk employees, gave excellent service and hospitality. She deserves a raise!

Such a mixed bag here. AMAZING employees! Comfy bed. Love the keurig in the room. The major drawback for me was the way the building was constructed. Obviously meant to be an office building and therefore the walls are PAPER THIN. Could here my neighbors on both sides. Not just muffled, like they’re entire conversation like they were in my room with me. Same goes with noise coming from the hallway and the street. I was 5 floors up. I would personally request much higher and no neighboring rooms if possible. There was a chair in the room covered in crumbs when I got there. Obviously not too big of a deal, just makes me wonder what else wasn’t cleaned too well.

John the overnight receptionist was amazing. The rooms were clean and well decorated. Amazing water pressure in the showers. Only complaint is that when we called ahead of time we were told self parking was $38 while valet was $50. At checkout we were informed that this was no longer the case. Self park was $48 and valet was $50. Other than that, great hotel in a great location.

Never stayed here but briefly visited a friend that was recently. Nice rooms and I find the architecture pretty cool. It has an huge lobby area that makes up half the building that is enclosed by a glass scaffolding type of exterior. IMHO it kinda seems like a waste of space from an urban design standpoint but it is impressive when your inside and one of those cool glass elevators.

Great place to stay while in Austin. Its an affordable stay within walking distance of many of the downtown experiences. We stayed here for an ACL show which we walked to. The thriving south congress strip is right here. The 6th street bar scene is also within walking distance.

Helpful front desk staff. This bathroom needed serious updating. The bedroom and living area were nice. The hotel seems a little older and just needs a bit of updating.

Hotel Ella is absolutely fantastic. The staff members are exceptionally accommodating, professional, courteous, and attentive. The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. Hotel Ella’s event team, especially Courtney, is fantastic as well. I would highly recommend staying here and hosting events here.

I am so grateful to have found this gem for our weekend getaway to Austin! I fell in love with the aesthetic while browsing for places to stay, and I loved that it was even greater in person! The staff was genuinely the kindest I have ever encountered; we were always greeted whenever we walked through the door, and each staff member always had a positive attitude. Great location, close to every site we wanted to see. The rooms were clean, as well as the entire facility. The pool was quiet and charming. Wonderful wonderful experience, I can’t wait to visit again!

Beautiful old world charm surrounding a fabulous traditional afternoon tea. A great way to spend an afternoon with friends or family.
A must do if you are visiting Austin.
