A wonderful sight to see if in Austin. Went in on my own. All you have to do is pass through security for access into the building. You are free to walk around the grounds and may take photos and videos while on the grounds. There is a gift shop on-site and guided tours are offered as well. It was a very nice experience being able to see the Texas state capitol.

Super cool history field trip! My kids are home schooled so we do a lot of interactive learning trips. They had a blast. They enjoyed seeing statues and plaques outside the capital building. Very beautiful, well kept, and picturesque. Definitely take your camera or a quality phone, and you’ll have tons of scrap book photos! The officers were super helpful and polite. The gentleman searching the bags could be more polite and less aggressive, but the woman that assisted made up for it. It was just very off-putting since I brought my 3 small children with me and felt as if I was being accosted. Very gruff tone, almost angry 🙃 but he, maybe he was just having a bad day….There may be some demonstrations going on when you visit, but nothing that would be cause for concern. You can park directly across the street (if there’s availability) for free. Just be mindful that some spaces are reserved for officials. You’ll definitely have a great time.

Driving is Austin is the wild west. Police do not enforce traffic laws. I was driving in center lane of IH35, police car was in right lane and a 18 wheeler was in left lane. We drove like this for about 3 miles. 18 wheelers are prohibited from driving in the left lane but in Austin they do as they know APD does not enforce traffic laws. I also see people driving with expired registration, expired temporary plates and people driving with NO licenses plates on there cars every day. APD can shoot unarmed citizens but can write a traffic ticket. Maybe most do not know how to write?

PUC did a very thorough and fair investigation into an issue I was experiencing regarding allocated billing. I was very impressed with how prompt they were in regards to responding to my complaint, as well as the level of communication during the process. Great job guys!

The TX PUC was very helpful to me when I called about an issue changing over from one electric provider to another. They were prompt, friendly, and most importantly, successful! It was the first time I engaged them and I will not hesitate to call them again. 👍

I was going back and forth with energy provider by my self. When I involved Public Utility Commission, they have helped me to resolve billing issue with electricity provider by reviewing all the documents. Not much hassle , only one mail and matter is resolved. Way to go!!! Thanks for all the work you do for Texas .

I called with quite a few questions about my TRS benefits at 7am and someone answered promptly and answered some of my questions and then forwarded me to a specialist who was able to answer the rest of my questions.

I have been trying to call and get someone to help me from the past 3months. There’s some issue with my claim and now they asked me to pay everything back since last year. How does this make sense, you all can send a letter asking for every penny but you can’t help someone when they have been trying to contact and get someone to help them with their issue. What a system is this and how amazingly it’s been run, literally no words to explain. Would give no star if it was possible.

This is absolutely the worst place to find help for unemployment. They don’t answer the phone, and when you are able to get ahold of a person, they are rude and transfer you to someone else. Wait times are ridiculously long (3 hours most times). This place deserves 0 stars. If you can, avoid this place AT ALL COSTS! How can they kick unemployed people down when they are already at their worst? By treating them like garbage, so much so that people give up calling and contacting TWC. TWC is betting on that. TERRIBLE.

Usual gov’t agency. Lazy, no work ethics, could not fix road issues if they were able to share a brain cell!!
